The operating company that owns the famous Kentucky Derby horse race, Churchill Downs, has restarted operations at its Calder Casino in Miami Gardens, Florida.



From yesterday, August 31, the location has been opened for business for the first time since March. It means that all of the gaming properties in the Churchill Downs portfolio are now back in action.

Calder Casino is subject to strict hygiene protocols including frequent cleaning, social distancing, separators between machines, hand sanitisers and other protections.

Churchill Downs operates in eight US states with 11,000 machines and 200 tables, in addition to operating the largest online horse racing wagering platform in the country, TwinSpire.com.
