The formal completion of the deal that sees The Mirage casino-resort on Las Vegas’ Strip change hands took place on Monday.
MGM Resorts’ ownership of the iconic property is now ended and it is now in the hands of the tribal-owned Hard Rock International.
Hard Rock paid $1.075bn for the assets of the casino and has set up a long-term lease with VICI Properties for the land on which it stands.
It will continue to operate as it does now, until the renovation and upgrading work begins. The famous erupting volcano at the front of the venue will be removed in favour of a giant guitar.
