The famous Las Vegas Strip with its casinos and its nearby airport were all under water on Thursday night of last week after torrential rain.
The New York Post said that the entire Strip was under water, including many of the major casinos such as Caesars Palace and Planet Hollywood.
City officials said that the run-offs designed to cater for the monsoon-like climate in mid-summer in Las Vegas simply could not cope with the volume of water.
