A marked improvement in the fortunes of South Korea’s two foreigner-only casino companies has been shown for September.


Grand Korea Leisure and Paradise Co both had a sharp increase in GGR compared with the same period of last year.

GKL’s revenue rose 169 per cent in the month to US$17.9m, completing a first nine months to $121.1m, or 160 per cent up.

Paradise reported that in August its revenue fell by 22.4 per cent to $27.7m, but it was a massive 313 per cent up on September of last year. For the nine months, Paradise had a 5.3 per cent improvement to $143.5m.

GKL has three casinos in the country while Paradise operates four.
