A new historical racing machine entertainment venue is to be opened in Owensboro, Kentucky, US.

Ellis Entertainment will include a 60,000sq.ft racing and gaming destination in the Towne Square Mall development. It will feature a stadium-style race and sports themed bar and grill.

Work on the project will begin early in 2022, said Jeffery Inman, general manager at Ellis Entertainment. He added that in addition to the facility providing a new attraction for the community, it would create US$6m to uS$8m in additional revenues each year at Ellis Park, that would help improve the quality of racing for the Kentucky Thoroughbred circuit.

Ellis Park has received approval for a non-contiguous racing licence from the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission that will allow the track to expand its gaming operation into Owensboro.
