IMG Arena, a leading London-based sports data, betting, media and performance company, reported that it has decided to purchase Leap Gaming (Leap), a leading provider of online sports and casino games. The main motive of this purchase is the further development, enrichment and improvement of its betting and gaming portfolio.

New purchase:

The company didn’t disclose the amount for which the supplier was purchased. The acquisition is expected to be officially completed in the first half of 2023, following the completion of key regulatory processes.

Under the terms of the purchase agreement, IMG Arena will integrate Leap’s innovative 3-D and motion capture technologies and a 58-person team led by the company’s CEO with its own “Event Centre” suite of products.

This integration will feature the world’s best products and technologies and provide customers, aka sports federations and sportsbook operators, with unique, non-traditional content to enhance the player experience.

Freddie Longe, President of IMG Arena, said: “When we invested in Leap Gaming in 2018, our aim was to create official products and unlock new revenue streams and forms of fan engagement for our clients. We are delighted to extend that partnership and officially welcome Leap into the IMG ARENA team.

“The acquisition will enable us to build on the work we have already done with Leap to take the virtual sports experience to new levels and continue to enhance our sports betting content portfolio.”

Yariv Lissauer, Chief Executive Officer of Leap Gaming, who will soon become Senior Director and General Manager of IMG Arena – iGaming, added: “Leap joining the IMG ARENA business is a natural union born out of synergies in product, customer base and, most importantly, culture and vision. This will enable us to leverage our knowledge, strengths and resources to deliver an enhanced range of best-in-class virtual sports products.”
