IGT Global Solutions will remain the exclusive supplier of lottery, i-lottery, instant lottery and video lottery to the US state of Rhode Island.
The announcement followed the conclusion of a partnership agreement between the IGT subsidiary and Rhode Island Lottery and will see the gambling company committing to 1,100 jobs and $155m in investments in the state.
The 20-year contract will take IGT through to June, 2043, the company said in a statement last week.
Rhode Island Lottery and IGT had partnered since the early days of both businesses, said Mark Furcolo, Rhode Island Lottery director. “This extension signifies an impressive milestone and we look forward to continued success and implementation of the most advanced lottery systems and solutions for many years to come.”
IGT will upgrade the i-lottery system in 2023 and will replace the lottery’s draw-based central system with its Aurora product and again replace the solution in 2033.
