As US casinos largely reopen this week and venues across the world begin to emerge from the lockdown, the cost for the gambling sector is being counted.
According to Fantini’s Gaming Report, the COVID-19 pandemic will drive North American gambling revenues down by 19.2 per cent. The impact in Asia will see a 22.8 per cent fall and Europe the same figure.
On the other hand, online gambling’s share of the international gaming revenue should rise to 16.7 per cent. The overall impact on the global market will see US$369.7bn in expected revenues for the year, down from $472.6bn.
