GGPoker kicked off the WSOP bracelet events on Sunday and already the series is a success. The series began with the $100 Opener with $2 million in prize money up for grabs. The first day offered up three events and players certainly logged in to compete. The series continues through September, providing a total of 54 bracelet events to players participating.

Highlights of the Series Thus Far:

Several highlights can already be seen, despite the series being in the early stages. First, the $525 Super Turbo Bounty 6-handed tournament awarded the first-ever online bracelet to a participant from Japan. Shoma Ishikawa was able to outlast the large field of 2,214 players to earn the win and his first bracelet. He won almost $118,000 due to the bounty prize and cash prize of the event.

There were also other big winners over the weekend. Andres Nemeth was able to win the High Rollers Blade PLO event, taking home just over $91,000. For the High Rollers Short Deck event, Isaac Haxton earned the bracelet win and managed to pocket just over $97,000.

Big Week Ahead:

Players still have plenty to discover during the GGPoker WSOP events. This week, a Pot Limit Omaha Championship event is on the schedule along with a Bounty Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. There will also be a Monster Stack No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed event along with additional tournament action.

We should see a great number of new winners and plenty of firsts during this poker series. This is the first time that the WSOP has offered online bracelet events to an international audience. Players from around the world can compete, so it will be interesting to see which countries can claim wins as well as who can claim the most gold bracelets once it is all said and done!
