A poll in Germany shows that nearly 60 per cent of pubs and restaurants are at risk of closure, which would have a severe impact on the AWP industry.
The poll, by the German Hotel and Restaurant Association, says that venues suffered a 60 per cent decline in revenues in the first seven months of the year. In April the figure reached 86.8 per cent.
Some relaxation has allowed venues to reopen under restrictions, but it is not enough and the association is calling for a temporary VAT reduction to be made permanent and for longer bridging loans to prevent mass bankruptcies.
