Germany’s Paul Gauselmann, noted for his zeal in promoting young entrepreneurs, has committed to an initiative in Tanzania.

The head of the big Merkur brand of gaming machines, has backed the establishment of the Westerwelle Startup Haus Arusha with a generous donation.

The venue was originally established by the Berlin-based Westerhelle Foundation for International Understanding and offers young entrepreneurs the chance to pursue their activities in modern state-of-the-art offices, discussing projects with like-minded people and take part in special training programmes.

Paul Gauselmann explained in a video message to participants at the launch event: “I want to invest money that I have earned in young entrepreneurs and in this way give more people in Tanzania the opportunity to go into business in the same way that I did.”
