Last year the Paul and Karin Gauselmann Foundation – a charity created in Germany by the founder of AWP manufacturer and operator Paul Gauselmann and his wife – supported 180 projects of various types in the country, donating €250,000.

Now in its 21st year, the Foundation is based at Espelkamp, in North Rhine Westphalia, and has factories close-by at Lübbecke. The charity supports in particular sporting and health-oriented projects and since its inception has donated €16.2m.

In its report on its activities last year, the Foundation said that it devoted much of its resources on the purchase of equipment for children youth and social services projects of cultural and club organisations, plus help for the medical infrastructure and prophylaxis.

In acknowledgement of their support for local organisations, Gauselmann was awarded the honorary citizenship of both Espelkamp and Lübbecke in 2004 and Karin Gauselmann of Espelkamp in 2015.
