The addition of “adult arcades” in Jacksonville, Florida, could be illegal, warns the Florida Gaming Control Commission, reported in the Florida Times-Union.

A proposal to legalise the venues in the city, using casino-style slots, could be illegal under the prohibition of slots in Duval County, where the city is located.

The commission has written to the city authorities warning that if they allow the venues, having banned them in 2019, it may conflict with state law. Local officials in Jacksonville now propose to take legal advice on the proposal.
