Feline Fury Slot Review (Play’n Go)

Dressing up pets for Halloween and the festivities has been one of the most controversial topics over the last few years. While few are against it, most are for letting our feline friends rock cute little sweaters, adorable jackets, and all manner of funny costumes.

And here in our domain, the developers at Play’n Go are all in for the motion: bring out the inner diva of your furry friend! There is no question about that. And the reason why? Well, they have dressed up a quartet of cats as a sergeant-at-arms, a merchant, a pirate, and as a mystic so that they can star in their newest release, Feline Fury. Let us take this one through its paces to see what is on offer.

Slot Overview, Math Model, Basic Rules

The setting for this one is beyond funny, rotating around a moggie-quartet dressed up Puss in Boots-style to rule a kingdom. (The one in the backdrop, we presume). Wooden logs fastened with ropes border the simplistic five-reel grid where fifteen symbols descend on each spin. Fair warning: the accompanying soundtrack will be disturbing (for lack of a stronger word) for someone with Ailurophobia, especially when there is a winning combination involving one of the mousers.

A wide range of bets is availed here, from just 0.2 to 100 units of the currency in use on any device. On to the other math stats, Feline Fury is one of those slots capable of catching you by surprise even after studying the menu it ships with. Why? Well, it is stated that it runs on mid volatility, yet sessions can sometimes feel like trying to bathe a cat. Still, a decent hit rate in the range of 1 in 3-5 means that a response shouldn’t take long to come by. The default Return to Player percentage is a crowd-pleaser too at an above-average mark of 96.2%.

As for the rules, they are quite straightforward because this is as simplistic as grid slots get. Players get just twenty left to right-oriented paylines to land winners on. Don’t know why the developers opted for such a setup at this day and age, but perhaps the features and the paytable will be enough to bring things right back on track.

The paytable consists of eight regular payers and several special symbols we will take a look at later. Representing the weaker side of the paytable are the recognizable suit fillers that rack up 2X on a single line at best. As expected, the premiums are the cats and an elusive crown. The crown and the cat dressed up as the sergeant-at-arms are the top-payers, with identical values that range from 2-10X on a single line.

The Cats can Go Wild!

At any moment, the cats in view can turn into wilds, which take the place of any regular payer. Important to note here, all “wild cats” pay as much as the premiums.

Watch out for the bolts of Fire!

Once a feline wild feature is triggered, up to five reels can turn fiery. If a feline wild happens to land on these, it will expand to expand over the entire reel. And it doesn’t stop at that. There are multipliers to be won as well.

If two feline wilds land on a fiery reel, the expanded wild receives an X2 modifier. Same way, if three feline wilds land on a fiery reel, the expanded feline receives an X3 modifier. Also important to mention, fiery reels are not guaranteed for every feline wild trigger.

Bonus Round

A golden cup reminiscent of a chalice represents the scatter. A sighting of three on the grid triggers five rounds on the house. That might sound like a low count, but there are more free spins to be won easily in-session as explained below.

Each of the card suit fillers corresponds to a cat in free spins. Collect twelve of spades, hearts, diamonds, and clubs to trigger the feline wild for the cat-at-arms, merchant cat, pirate cat, and mystery cat. There are a few things to note here. One, every completed collection adds three rounds to the free spins tally. And two, fiery reels can be triggered randomly after the completion of the first collection.

Feline Fury — Our Verdict

Right off the bat, it is clear that Feline Fury isn’t eligible to contend for Play’n Go’s Finest Work of the Year prize. That’s intentional, though, as the developers made it clear that this release was for the cat lovers or casual players looking for a cheery, fun slot to spin. For those who are wondering about how far the rewards can go, Play’n Go hints payouts of up to 5000X, so mega wins are technically possible with the multipliers, of course. We doubt that last part, though, so play the slot and be the judge.
