Entain, one of the world’s largest gambling and sports betting companies, is the latest company to have the rule run over it in Australia.

Austrac,  (Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre), the government agency responsible for detecting criminal abuse of the financial system, has announced that it is investigating Entain, owner of brands such as Ladbrokes, Coral, BetMGM, bwin, Sportingbet, Eurobet, Gala and Foxy Bingo.

The move, says Austrac, is “an enforcement investigation following an extensive supervisory campaign that assessed entities within the corporate bookmakers sector.”

It said that the investigation would focus on whether Entain Group has complied with its obligations under the AML/CTF obligations.
