Some five months after opening its $2.6 billion Encore Boston Harbor, American casino operator Wynn Resorts Limited has now reportedly decided to do away with the Massachusetts facility’s steep $50 gaming table minimums alongside all of its self-service parking fees.

According to a Thursday report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper, the move from the Las Vegas-headquartered firm is all part of an effort to increase the appeal of its newest venue beyond the VIP crowd and make it much more of a destination for all Boston-area gamblers.

Significant selection:

The newspaper reported that Encore Boston Harbor opened its doors on June 23 complete with 671 well-appointed hotel rooms as well as a 210,000 sq ft casino featuring a collection of 3,158 slots alongside some 231 gaming tables offering games such as poker, blackjack, roulette and baccarat.

Prominent particulars:

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the move from Wynn Resorts Limited means that its sole Massachusetts casino now features only $15 gaming table minimums while patrons are not required to pay a fee in order to park their own vehicles in any of its 2,900 spaces.

Area attraction:

Brian Gullbrants, who replaced predecessor Robert DeSalvio last month as President for Encore Boston Harbor, reportedly told members of the Massachusetts Gaming Commission on Thursday that he hopes the alterations will allow his venue to become ‘a Boston casino in Boston’.

Gullbrants reportedly stated…

“The last thing we want to do is be a Vegas casino in Boston. We want to be greater Boston’s hometown casino and we want everyone to come and feel welcome and like they can have a great time there, whether they are playing or not playing.”

Existing expenses:

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that charges of up to $7 to utilize some of Encore Boston Harbor’s shuttle buses and water taxis are to remain in place while it cited a story from MassLive.com in detailing that the venue is soon planning to unveil a tiered card system to offer a range of rewards to players.

Gullbrants reportedly declared…

“We thought we could charge for parking here in Boston and we were wrong. We have now made self-parking free for all guests around-the-clock.”
