Gross gaming revenue in Denmark showed mixed results for October compared to September this year and year-on-year.


The Danish regulator, the Spillemyndigheden, has revealed that betting GGR for October was down slightly to DKK213m from September’s DKK214m figure, with overall GGR in this sector for the year so far down 1.7 per cent compared to 2021.

However, betting GGR for October was 62.9 per cent up on last October.

In online casino, meanwhile, the October GGR was DKK247m, up from DKK237m the month before. Unlike betting, online casino showed growth of 1.9 per cent over the first 10 months of 2022 in Denmark compared to the same period in 2021. And GGR in online casino grew 2.5 per cent year-on-year for October.

Gaming machines revenue in Denmark dropped 12.5 per cent year-on-year, with DKK101m the figure for October. However, that figure was up on the DKK99m figure for September 2022.

Overall for gaming machines, there has been a 56.9 per cent increase in GGR from January to October compared with the same period last year.

Land-based casinos in Denmark have also shown growth in 2022. The GGR for January to October was DKK289m compared to the DKK173m figure covering the same period last year – an increase of 67.3 per cent.

However, land-based revenue was down to DKK29m from DKK34m in September.
