Kentucky Derby owner and gaming operator Churchill Downs is to acquire Chasers Poker Room in Salem, New Hampshire, US.
The acquisition of the state’s leading charitable gaming operation will pave the way for Churchill Downs to expand its historical horse racing operations into a fourth US state.
Chasers is close to Boston and has offered poker and a variety of table games since it opened in 2017. Last year New Hampshire authorised existing charitable gaming operators to offer historical horse racing at licensed facilities.
HRMs are also operated in Churchill Downs’ home state of Kentucky and in Virginia and Louisiana.
