A plan to build a casino in Shippensburg in the US state of Pennsylvania has been given approval.

The Shippensburg Township supervisors voted at the weekend to grant conditional use approval to Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment to build the Parx Casino in the town.

The 77,000sq.ft of property will contain the casino and a restaurant in half of a former Lowe’s store in the town centre retail complex and another section would be held back for other uses.

The casino plan is for 600 slots, a restaurant and sports bar. It is hoped that it will open in 2022.
