A Harrah’s casino and racetrack is to be built in Columbus, Nebraska, it was announced at the end of last week.
The venue, to be opened towards the end of next year, comes as a result of a partnership agreement between Columbus Exposition and Racing and Caesars Entertainment.
The casino resort is seen as a new entertainment destination for the Midwest to help drive the economy and provide jobs for the Columbus area. It is a $75m development and will have a one-mile horse racing surface and a 40,000sq ft. casino with 400 slots and 20 table games, a restaurant and bars.
Columbus has had an operating live racing venue at Ag Park for over 75 years.
