Caesars Entertainment has sold its European and African casino businesses to Silver Point Capital’s investment company Metropolitan Gaming for an undisclosed amount.

The sale included 11 casinos located in the UK, Egypt and South Africa.

Silver Point plans to provide investment and strategic support to the business and work to develop Metropolitan as a leading brand in the luxury and premium gaming sectors, Metropolitan said.

As part of that development, Metropolitan appointed former Mohegan Gaming COO Michael Silberling as CEO.
