Caesars Entertainment has announced that it will restart its casino operations in phases in line with demand and capacity. Social distancing will be encouraged, plus other health and safety protocols.

Social distancing will be encouraged, plus other health and safety protocols.CEO Tony Rodio said that a comprehensive programme had been developed to reach the right standards at each location, with enhanced cleaning and sanitisation of public spaces and guest rooms. All employees will be trained on the new procedures, he said.

“The company will instruct all team members to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds more frequently throughout their shift and signage throughout the properties will strongly encourage guests to do the same. Hand sanitiser will also be available throughout Caesars’ properties.”

Social distancing practices will be employed by limiting table game spots and slot machines and non-gaming offerings, including entertainment, restaurants and bars, would be reopened on a phased basis with limited capacity. Team members will wear masks and some will have gloves as well. The company will have masks available for guests.

The company also released some first quarter results with EBITDA rising almost 30 perc cent before the company’s properties were closed, which Rodio said suggested a strong recovery. The company has liquid assets of $2.7bn and has reduced its daily cash expenses to $9.3m. Net revenue was $1.8bn, down from $2.1bn.
