The long-waited vote on the future of legalised gambling in Brazil could happen at any time, says the president of the country’s Chamber of Deputies.
Arthur Lira (pictured) said last week that the legal framework for a gambling law is now ready and the vote could happen at any time.
He said: “We agreed to vote on the text at the beginning of this year and as the gambling regulations were published at the end of last year, they are familiar and the discussion has already taken place; we agreed that we would vote on it early in 2022.”
The release of betting and gambling in Brazil would create 700,000 new jobs directly in the short term, according to statistics emerging from the country, but in a wider sense could lead to 1.3 million new jobs.
