The World Poker Tour Online Series began on May 14 and this week is the final days of tournament action. Players still have plenty of time to compete in major events, even though a few highlights have already finished up. Three High Roller events just finished up including the Super High Roller, featuring a $1 million guaranteed prize pool.

The event had a $25,000 buy-in and the field was full of top competitors. A total of 43 players bought into the event, which pushed the prize pool to $1,075,000. In the end, it was online poker pro Benjamin Rolle who earned the first-place win. Rolle plays via the handle “bencb789” online and he won the event after defeating Artur Martirosian in heads-up play.

Event Details

When the final table began for the Super High Roller, all seven were able to finish in the money. It was Almedin Imsirovic who was the first to go, followed by Daniel Dvoress. Christoph Vogelsang followed closely behind, and the players kept dropping until only Rolle and Martirosian remained.

In total, the event took just over seven hours to complete. Rolle would quickly knock out his final opponent of the event to secure first place and the $381,400 prize money.

High Roller Turbo Event

Another high roller tournament that finished up recently is the High Roller Turbo. This tournament had a buy-in of $5,200 and featured a $250,000 prize pool. With 51 entries, the guarantee surpassed the guarantee by an extra $5,000.

This online poker event was won by partypoker Ambassador Isaac Haxton. He defeated David Peters in the heads-up round and won $77,784 for his efforts. Peters would take home $55,547 for his second-place finish.

The World Poker Tour will head to a land-based event once the Online Series finishes up. On May 21, the WPT arrived at The Star Gold Coast casino and on May 27, the Main Event kicks off. The Main Event will run from May 27-30.

The Main Event has a buy-in of AUD$1,500. This includes the $1,350 buy-in and the $150 fee. Players who plan on attending the festival can register for the Main Event now online. Special hotel rates are also offered locally so players can easily stay on-site for ease of access while competing in the big event.

The World Poker Tour will then continue with many more events on the schedule, spanning the globe. As the COVID-19 pandemic seems to be improving, the tour has been able to schedule more land-based events.
