Battle to control five-star casino resort

A war appears to have broken out over the control of a five-star casino resort in Manila in the Philippines.

According to the Filipino Business Mirror, the control of the Okada Manila casino has changed hands in a violent situation between two parties claiming ownership.

A press release issued yesterday by the resort said that the venue is “once again” being managed by the group chaired by Kazuo Okada.

Yet another press release was issued by a group claiming control of Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment, the operating unit of Okada Manila.

That statement went on to say that representatives of Kazuo Okada had “llegally and violently” entered the property and “used brute force” to remove TRLE staff in an apparent abuse of ongoing legal processes that involve the two parties.

A war of words was followed by court actions and temporary orders in a contest that dates back to 2017.
