Anthony Ball is the new chairman of the Gaming Technologies Association, the manufacturers and suppliers organisation for Australasia.
Ball was confirmed as the new chair during the GTA-sponsored Australasian Gaming Expo held this week in Sydney. Ball was previously with Clubs NSW, but is now with Aristocrat as general manager, government and industry relations for ANZ/APAC.
His vice-chairman will be Cameron Louis, managing director of Aruze Gaming Australia.
Ball succeeds Adrian Halpenny, who has held the position for over nine years, during which he transformed GTA’s advocacy capabilities and oversaw exponential growth of the GTA’s trade show. Halpenny is senior vice-president Australia and Asia for Light & Wonder.
Said Ball: “Our association has a well thought out plan for how it can contribute to the long-term wellbeing of gaming technology and supplier companies, venues and all that have a stake in our industry.
“We will work energetically to deliver our agenda, which includes increasing stakeholder understanding of our industry, supporting efficient, balanced and effective rules and regulation, promoting technology as an enabler of responsible gameplay, encouraging innovation to meet player and customer needs and representing the interests of technology companies while contributing to gaming industry advocacy more broadly.”
