There was a A$198.6m (€137.3m) loss at Australia’s Star Entertainment in its full year reported this week, mainly down to the pandemic closures.

Also, said the company, there was a write-down against its flagship Sydney casino.

Star is waiting for the outcome of a review into its suitability to hold a New South Wales casino licence, in addition to an investigation from the financial crimes regulator after allegations that it had aided money-laundering.

The normalised net loss was A$32m (€22.1m) while revenue for the year to June 30 fell 1.2 per cent to A$1.53bn (€105.8bn).
