Millionaire punters at a leading London casino were permitted to racially abuse black croupiers and refuse to be dealt by them, a tribunal in London will be told.
The exclusive Mayfair Crown London Aspinalls Club is at the centre of allegations from Semhar Tesfagiorgis, who worked at the casino for 13 years, reports The Times newspaper today.
The newspaper reports that it has seen a claim filed by Tesfagiorgis with the London employment tribunal. It alleges that the club is guilty of race and sex discrimination.
She is quoted by the newspaper as saying: “I have been in the casino business for 17 years and my experiences are all too familiar to people of my background.”
Tesfagiorgis claims that there has been instances where players were not banned despite the abuse.
The casino, said The Times, responded when approached with no comment as the matter was the subject of legal proceedings.
