Asian casinos reopening slowly

Reopening of Asian casinos continues to be a gradual process. The Philippines has extended its lockdown from June 30 until July 15 in Manila.

That will include the casinos, notably the City of Dreams in Manila and other venues in the capital.

This is in response to the continued rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. But some locations elsewhere in the country have reopened with reduced capacity.

Meanwhile in Hong Kong, arrivals from the region’s gambling capital, Macau, as well as China and Taiwan, continue to be subject to a two-week quarantine and that has been extended from July 7 to August 7. However, talks are continuing between the authorities in the city and those in Macau to set up a mutual exemption that would allow a cross-border relaxation of the rules, initially for essential travellers.
