New initiatives and progress on ongoing projects have been announced by American Gaming Association CEO Bill Miller.

A new strategic plan is the main item on the agenda for Miller. He said: “The gaming industry’s evolution is accelerating; demographics are shifting, sports betting and igaming are expanding and we are facing new demands from investors, policymakers, employees and patrons alike. The AGA is evolving to meet these new market demands.”

The plans outline strategic pillars and objectives that will enable the AGA to fulfil its mission of fostering a gaming policy and business environment where legal, regulated gaming can thrive.

Miller champions driving effective and efficient regulation, bolstering gaming’s commitment to responsible leadership and strengthening organisational and financial positioning.

At the same time, the AGA has published a guide to combat human trafficking in gaming and is targeting the fight against the illegal gambling market. “Industry stakeholders across the country are raising alarm bells on the need to crack down on unregulated gambling machines and illegal, offshore operators.

“By elevating the benefits of the legal market and the dangers of illegal gambling, we aim to spur federal action against offshore operators; prompt state legislative and law enforcement action on illegal ‘skill’ machine manufacturers; and to educate consumers so they choose legal options.”
