The US gambling industry’s trade organisation has set out its “shopping list” for the future of the industry.

The American Gaming Association’s priorities after the near-1,000 venues in the US have been decimated by the pandemic are designed to secure relief and recovery for the industry in legislation.

The AGA wants to ensure that the industry is included in any new laws and will fight for tax deductions and credits to save gaming jobs and boost tourism. It wants to secure liability protections and ensure flexibility for tribal nations to spend CARES Act funds.

The ACA also pledges to develop “new champions” to promote gaming’s recovery under the Biden administration and block harmful policies. It also wants to advance reforms to enhance industry competition. In this respect it wants to defeat federal attempts to raise fresh taxes or restrict resort fees.
