Revenues of US$301.8m in Q1 for North American gaming operator Accel Entertainment translated to a 2.9 per cent year-on-year increase.

Adjusted EBITDA for the company, which services bars, restaurants, convenience stores, truck stops and fraternal and veteran establishments, was up by 0.3 per cent to $46.2m.

Net income for the company in Q1 was $7.4m, a drop of 19.2 per cent.

Revenues in Accel’s largest market, Illinois, rose by 2.3 per cent to $244.9m.

Accel CEO Andy Rubenstein said the company is “cautiously optimistic about legislative trends we are seeing outside of Illinois” and is continuing to “explore opportunities to expand our national footprint.”

“I am happy to report that we delivered another solid quarter despite some unfavourable weather early on, once again demonstrating the strength of our business model,” he added.

Accel’s other key US markets are in the states of Montana, Nebraska and Nevada.
