The 2020 Global Poker Awards are set to take place March 6th, with the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas hosting and broadcasting the event live. Powered by The Hendon Mob, Global Poker Index and GPI/THM, the Global Poker Awards recognizes the best of the best in the industry, with a host of award categories. Players, events, even the media are recognized for their contribution to the game.

With the award ceremony set to take place in just over a month, the nominations for each category have been presented. First time nominees are listed in the various categories along with 16 former winners.

Award Categories:

One of the top categories of the awards ceremony is the GPI Breakout Player of the Year. Robert Campbell of Australia, Ramon Colillas of Spain, Ben Farrell of the United Kingdom and George Wolff of the United States have all been nominated in this category.

Another interesting category of the poker awards includes the Final Table Performance of the Year. Nominated her are Hossein Ensan of Germany for his performance at the World Series of Poker Main Event as well as William Alex Foxen of the US for his gameplay in the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Also nominated are Bryn Kenney of the US for the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Montenegro and Phillip Hui of the US for the WSOP Poker Players Championship.

Fans of the game had the ability to vote for the People’s Choice categories. This section includes the Poker Personality and the Best Hand. Voting continues through today at 8pm PT for submissions. Anyone who voted in the initial round can also vote in this round as well.

People’s Choice Fan Vote Nominees: 

Players Choice for Poker Personality of the Year includes Joey Ingram, Jonathan Little and Ryan DePaulo of the US along with Lex Velduis of the Netherlands. These players are being recognized for their personality at the felt.

For People’s Choice for Hand of the Year, the nominees are Bryce Yockey during the WSOP Poker Players Championship, Ryan Riess making a 10-high all-in call during the final table of the EPT Monte Carlo, Sam Trickett getting Stephen Chidwick to fold at the Triton London 1M event and Thi Xoa Nguyen folding a full house during the PSPC against Athanasois Polychronopoulos.
